Help For Viewing the Portfolio

The first page you see is the Home page. You can return to this page at any time by clicking on the 'Home' link.

All the pages on this site are organised in the same way: At the left is the Navigation panel that lets you go to different sections of the Portfolio (for example the Slideshow, a Gallery, this Help page and so on). At the top left is a link that lets you send us an email.

From any page on the site (except for the Help page in which the Gallery section is replaced by a Help section) you can do the following:
  • - Send us an email by clicking on the link in the top left hand box (info@irelandupclose.com)
  • - View a SlideShow of the images in this Portfolio by clicking on the 'Slideshow' link in the navigation bar at the left.
  • - View a Gallery (selection of images, usually for one of the counties of Ireland) by clicking on the link under 'Galleries' in the navigation bar at the left.
  • - Go to the 'AboutUs' page for some information on us.
  • - Get detailed information on our prints and frames by clicking on the 'Print Details' link.
  • - Go to our Greeting Card portfolio (www.CardsOfIreland.com) by clicking on the 'Cards' link.
  • - Go to links to associates and business friends by clicking on the 'Friends' link.
  • - View your Wishlist by clicking on the 'Wishlist' button at the top right of the screen (see 'Wishlist' help).
  • - View your Cart by clicking on the 'Cart' button at the top right of the screen (see 'Cart' help).
  • - Search for an image by entering search details in the Search box at the top right of the screen and then clicking on the 'Search' button (see 'Search' help).

Help For Viewing a Gallery

When you click on one of the Galleries, the centre section will display a list of thumbnail images for this gallery. You can click on one of the images to get a larger version.

Below the thumbnails are links to allow you to add the image to your Cart or add the image to your Wishlist (see relevant help sections).

Your Wishlist or Search results will look and behave just like a gallery.

Help For Viewing an Image

When you are displaying a larger version of the image, you can return to the gallery you came from (or to the Wishlist or Search items) by pressing the backspace key or by clicking on the selected gallery again (or you can select another gallery if you wish).

Below the larger image are links to allow you to add the image to your Cart or add the image to your Wishlist (see relevant help sections).

You can click on 'Previous' or 'Next' to see the image before this one, or the image after this one, in the gallery you have selected. You can also press Alt-P or Alt-N (or Ctl-P and Ctrl-N on the Mac) as a shortcut for Previous and Next.

If you would like to see what the image would look like in a black frame with an off-white mat you can click on 'Toggle Frame'. All images will now display in a frame. To return to the full-sized image (without a frame) just click on 'Toggle Frame' again.

Help For Search

You can search for any image on this site by entering one or more keywords in the Search box (see Examples below).
+ in front of the keyword means the keyword MUST be present.
- in front of the means the keyword must NOT be present.
* matches any characters in the word or at end of word (so mount* will find mount, mountain, mountains etc, mou*in* will find mountain and mountains).
keywords in double quotes means whole string must be present (or absent)

The keywords are case-insensitive. So 'Dublin' and 'dublin' are equivalent.
The search is for whole words. So 'mountain' and 'mountains' will return different images.
Both image keywords and image descriptions are searched.

EXAMPLES:
dublin mountains All images which have the keyword 'Dublin' OR the keyword 'mountains' or both
+dublin +mountains All images which have the keyword 'Dublin' AND the keyword 'mountains'
+dublin -mountains All images which have the keyword 'Dublin' BUT NOT the keyword 'mountains'
+dublin +mountains +mountain All images which have the keyword 'Dublin' AND the keyword 'mountain' AND the keyword 'mountains'
"dublin mountains" Images which have the exact keyword 'dublin mountains'
+"West Cork" +"Bantry Bay" -Glengarriff All images which match 'West Cork' AND 'Bantry Bay' but NOT 'Glengarriff'
+dublin +moun* All images that have the exact keyword 'Dublin' and the exact keyword starting with 'moun' (so mount, mountain etc)

Help For Wishlist

If you are interested in an image (to buy it or to view it again later) you can save it in your Wishlist. You can then view your Wishlist by clicking on the Wishlist button at the top of the page.

To add an image to your wishlist, click on the Add to Wishlist link below the image. When you click on a Gallery you will see a list of thumbnails and under each thumbnail is a +Wishlist link. If you have clicked on the image to view a larger version, then the Add to Wishlist link will again be below the image.

To remove an image from your wishlist, first click on the Wishlist button. If you have any images in your Wishlist they will be displayed as thumbnails, but this time the link below the thumbnail will have changed to Remove from Wishlist. Click on this and after a few seconds the image will be removed. You can also do this from the image view if you have clicked on one of the thumbnails in your Wishlist.

Providing you access our Portfolio from the same PC the next time around, your Wishlist will still be there.

Help For Cart

If you think you may want to buy an image - or if you want to see what the image looks like unframed, matted, or framed (in a selection of frames) - click on the +Cart link below the image.

This will bring you to an 'Add to Cart' page.

The image will initially be displayed in a black frame. To see what it would look like in a dark brown, tan, white or sculpted black frame, or to see it looks like matted but not framed, or just as a print, click on one of the different framing option links.

If you want to check out the price of the image in different sizes (and as a print, matted print or framed print) click on the 'Select Print Type' drop-down box below the image. This will show you the different prices in your local currency or in US$ if we do not support your local currency.

The prices listed INCLUDE taxes, packing, insurance and shipping. We only ship prints or matted prints to locations outside of Ireland as it is not economical to ship framed prints. However we do ship Acrylic-mounted prints as you will almost certainly not be able to have them mounted in this way locally.

Once you have made your selection click on the Add to Cart button. This will bring you to a Paypal shopping cart. On the first page you will be able to change the quantity of the item/items in your cart or remove ones you no longer want. You will be able to click on the 'Continue Shopping' button which will return you to our Portfolio, or you will be able to click on 'Proceed to Checkout' to pay for your item/s.

If you are in the Portfolio, you can view your cart at any time by clicking on the 'Cart' button at the top right of the page.

After you have clicked on 'Proceed to Checkout' on the Paypal cart, you will be taken to the Paypal Secure Payments screen. Here you will be able to log in to your Paypal account if you have one, or if you do not have a Paypal account just click on the 'Continue' link next to the 'Don't Have a Paypal Account?' question and you will be able to pay using your credit card.

After logging in to Paypal or entering your card details you will be able to review your order as a final step. At this stage please enter any special instructions to us. For example, if you wish to have a white frame rather than the default black frame, just specify 'White frame'.
