"Wicklow is certainly the most stunning county on the east coast of Ireland. It is very mountainous and has a most beautiful coastline. It has bare mountains and peat lands and lush valleys and lovely villages.
Glendalough from the Gaelic Gleann Da Loch, meaning “Glen of Two Lakes” is of course a site that is known world-wide for its great beauty and for the ancient monastic site founded in the 6th century by St Kevin, a hermit priest.
For the photographer Wicklow is both wonderful and very difficult because it is so majestic – and great sweeping scenery or wooded valleys are not easy to photograph or to paint. But it is a very beautiful county and no traveller to Ireland should miss seeing it.
We have many photographs of Wicklow in our archives: please contact us if you do not see the image that you want on this site and we will be happy to see if we have the picture that you want. """
